Summary
[edit]

The Attribute SOP allows you to manually rename and delete point, vertex, and primitive attributes.

The top portion of each parameter page deals with the deleting of a specifc type of attributes.

For example: Cd Alpha

Pattern Matching - Deletion accepts general pattern matching when determining which attributes to delete. For example:

* = Delete all attributes
Cd = Delete the Cd attribute
Cd Alpha = Delete Cd & Alpha attributes
a* = Delete all attributes beginning with a
* ^Cd = Delete all attributes except Cd

Note: You should never delete just one of the following attributes, but always keep/delete them together. This is because TouchDesigner's capture/deform system expects these three attributes to occur together. Deleting a subset of the three will cause errors as they are interdependent: pCapt (point attribute), pCaptPath, pCaptData (detail attribute)

The next section of each page deals with renaming attributes. Specify the name of the original incoming attribute in the 'From Attribute' parameter, and the new name you want it renamed to in the 'To Attribute' parameter.

Parameters - Point Page

Delete Attributes ptdel - - Use the field to specify the point attributes to delete. Simply enter a list of the attributes (separated by spaces) to delete, for example entering:Cd Alpha. You can also use the dropdown menu on the right to select them.

  • * * -

From Attribute 0 frompt0 - Specify the attribute you wish to rename, or select it from the dropdown menu on the right.

To Attribute 0 topt0 - Enter the new name for the attribute here.

Parameters - Vertex Page

These tabbed pages are identical to the Point page except that they deal with vertex and primitive attributes of the input geometry.

Delete Attributes vtxdel - - Use the field to specify the vertex attributes to delete. Simply enter a list of the attributes (separated by spaces) to delete, for example entering:uv N. You can also use the dropdown menu on the right to select them.

  • * * -

From Attribute 0 fromvtx0 - Specify the attribute you wish to rename, or select it from the dropdown menu on the right.

To Attribute 0 tovtx0 - Enter the new name for the attribute here.

Parameters - Primitive Page

Accepts geometry of all types.

Delete Attributes primdel - - Use the field to specify the primitive attributes to delete. Simply enter a list of the attributes (separated by spaces) to delete, for example entering:Cd creaseweight. You can also use the dropdown menu on the right to select them.

  • * * -

From Attribute 0 frompr0 - Specify the attribute you wish to rename, or select it from the dropdown menu on the right.

To Attribute 0 topr0 - Enter the new name for the attribute here.

Parameters - Detail Page

Delete Attributes dtldel - - Use the field to specify the detail attributes to delete. Simply enter a list of the attributes (separated by spaces) to delete. You can also use the dropdown menu on the right to select them.

  • * * -

From Attribute 0 fromdtl0 - Specify the attribute you wish to rename, or select it from the dropdown menu on the right.

To Attribute 0 todtl0 - Enter the new name for the attribute here.

An Operator Family that reads, creates and modifies 3D polygons, curves, NURBS surfaces, spheres, meatballs and other 3D surface data.

Each SOP has a list of Points. Each point has an XYZ 3D position value plus other optional attributes. Each polygon Primitive is defined by a vertex list, which is list of point numbers.

Information associated with SOP geometry. Points and primitives (polygons, NURBS, etc.) can have any number of attributes - position (P) is standard, and optional are normals (N), texture coordinates (uv), color (Cd), etc.

A surface type in SOPs including polygon, curve (NURBS and Bezier), patch (NURBS and Bezier) and other shapes like sphere, tube, and metaball. Points and Primitives are part of the Geometry Detail, which is a part of a SOP.
