Summary

The opBrowser Custom Component provides a range of network browsing, viewing, and parameter editing capabilities. It can be used as a standalone browser or embedded into other UI's. All configuration features are controlled by custom parameters and can be made accessible or not in the browser UI.

These parameters are general options for the Browser and Tree

Component Component - The root component to browse.  

Include Component Includecomponent - Show the Component in the browser tree. Otherwise, the top level will be Component's children

These filters apply to the browser tree and generally duplicate those in OP Find DAT. Uses TouchDesigner style pattern matching. Lists are space delimited and strings with spaces should be in quotes.

Filter Roots Only Filterrootsonly - Apply filter only to browser tree roots. Otherwise, apply to all roots and branches.

BrowserExt Extension Class

The BrowserExt extension provides extended functionality for working with opBrowser. Frequently used promoted members and methods are listed here. A full list can be found using the Python help() function.

Members

Component	The root component to browse. Same as the Component parameter.
CurrentOP	The main selected operator. This is the operator that is shown in the Viewer and Parameter panes.
SelectedPaths	A list of the OP paths currently selected in the tree.
TreeLister	(Read Only) The Tree Lister custom component used in the opBrowser.

Methods

OpenToPath(path, doRefresh=True) → True if successful, root opened in if already open, otherwise None.

Open tree to the provided path.

• path: The path to open to
• doRefresh: (Optional) - If True, call Refresh() after expanding items..

FromPathGetRowNum(path, startRow) → Row number or None if row object is not currently visible.

Get tree lister row number of chosen path.

• path: The object's path
• startRow: (Optional) - Start the search at this row. Default: 0.

FromPathsSelectRows(paths, addSelection) → list of paths that were not found

Select the rows with the provided paths. Tree will be expanded to selected paths. Any paths not found will be ignored.

• paths: a list of path strings matching paths in the input table
• addSelection: (Optional) - if True, add to current selection. Default: False.

The location of an operator within the TouchDesigner environment, for example, /geo1/circle1, a node called circle1 in a component called geo1. The path / is called Root. This path is displayed at the top of every Pane, showing which Component's network you are currently in. To refer instead to a filesystem folder, directory, disk file or http: address, see Folder.

An Operator Family that contains its own Network. There are sixteen 3D Object Component and ten 2D Panel Component types. See also Network Path.

The connection of an output of one node to the input of another node in a network. In contrast, see Link.

Hierarchy relates components with other components. There are two groups of Hierarchy in TouchDesigner. 3D Object Components, and 2D Panel Components. Hierarchies let one component to be positioned relative to another. Each group can be connected via lines between the bottoms/tops of nodes in a network, or by placing one component inside the other.

A Window in TouchDesigner is a window in Microsoft Windows or macOS that contains either (1) the TouchDesigner editing interface that exists in Designer Mode, or (2) a user-created Panel inside a Window Component. The user-created windows can span Multiple Monitors borderless, or be floating windows with borders, or popups.

An Operator Family that manipulates text strings: multi-line text or tables. Multi-line text is often a python Script or GLSL Shader, but can be any multi-line text. Tables are rows and columns of cells, each containing a text string.

A text string that contains data (string, float, list, boolean, etc.) and operators (+ * < etc) that are evaluated by the node's language (python or Tscript) and returns a string, float list or boolean, etc. Expressions are used in parameters, DATs and in scripts.

An Operator Family that contains its own Network. There are sixteen 3D Object Component and ten 2D Panel Component types. See also Network Path.

The viewer of a node can be (1) the interior of a node (the Node Viewer), (2) a floating window (RMB->View... on node), or (3) a Pane that graphically shows the results of an operator.
